Dr. Nichole Parand

Dr. Nichole Parand (formerly Arbona) was born and raised in Northern Arizona and graduated from The University of Arizona with a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology before earning her D.V.M. from Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Throughout her years, Dr. Parand has worked with many different species of animals, small and large.

While in school, Dr. Parand was highly involved in research and published a paper in the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery on a common southern fungal disease (valley fever) in cats. She also performed research in Madagascar on critically endangered lemurs!

Dr. Parand joined Irvington Pet Hospital and the VetnCare team in February of 2021 and loves the hospital, staff, and patients very much.

She has an immense passion for animals and the human-animal bond. She has a special interest in surgery, ophthalmology, and exotic animals (particularly pocket pets).

Dr. Parand strives to make every visit as gentle, pain-free, and stress-free as possible for your pets. She is proud to be Fear Free certified! To become certified, Dr. Parand has completed a comprehensive, 8-part educational course and exam and also has to complete continuing education to remain certified. When not at work, Dr. Parand enjoys traveling the world, hiking, and spending time with her husband, dogs, and rabbits. She is excited to continue offering comprehensive and advanced care for your furry, scaly, and hairless pets!
