Dr. Sunil Sharma

As a dedicated and compassionate veterinarian, I bring over a decade of experience in providing exceptional care to our furry friends. Born and raised in a family of professionals with a strong agricultural background, my passion for veterinary medicine was nurtured from a young age. My brother, a veterinarian, inspired me to pursue the noble profession.

I earned my Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H) in 2005 from India, and moved to the United States in 2007. I furthered my education at Eastern Kentucky University, where I completed Master’s in Public Health (MPH) and Master’s in Public Health Administration (MPA). While pursuing my graduate studies, I also obtained my DVM license to practice veterinary medicine in the United States.

Prior to joining Sun Valley Pet Hospital in 2020, I practiced veterinary medicine in Chicago for seven years. My expertise spans various aspects of veterinary care, with special interest in elevation of standard of care, internal medicine and Surgery.

My Goal is to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care that addresses the unique needs of each patient. I strive to foster long-lasting relationships with pet owners, built on trust, empathy and open communication. As a veterinarian my mission is to provide state of the art care guidance, and support to enhance the health and well being of companion animals.

Outside of my professional endeavors, I cherish time with my loving family, including my wife and three children, two daughters and a son.  Photography is another passion of mine with particular interest in landscape and wildlife photography.
