Dr. Max Salinas
I have lived in the Napa Valley almost my entire life. I grew up on Lincoln Street, went to McPherson and Ridgeview, and finally graduated from Napa High School in 1986. I met my wife, Amy, in high school. We have been happily married for many many years! Our two children, Tyler and Cassidy, are all grown up! Amy and I still live happily here in Napa with our pets. I love Napa and will probably always live here.
I started my college career at Napa Valley College and switched majors many times, from philosophy to English literature and then to general biology, earning an Associate of Science degree in 1991. I transferred to UC Davis for my undergraduate studies, majoring in biology with an emphasis on evolution and ecology. My goal at that time was to disprove the theory of evolution…I could not. I entered the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994, working when I could as a veterinary technician. I obtained my Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 1996 and my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1998, all from UC Davis.
After graduating, I went straight into private practice as a veterinarian. My only goal at that time was to become the best primary care small animal veterinarian I could be. I have been on that path ever since. It’s still my main professional goal.
I am a musician, playing guitar and bass for over 30 years. My tastes include Blues, Rock, Metal, Bluegrass, and Country. I also enjoy online gaming and hanging out with the family.
