Dr. Mollie Powell is a native of Northern Virginia. She had always loved animals and wanted to work with them, but figured out she wanted to be a vet around age 11, after working with her family veterinarian to pull one of her guinea pigs, Diablo, through a serious illness. She attended George Mason University where she received a BS in Biology and minored in Applied Conservation Studies at the Smithsonian.
She then attended veterinary school at Tufts University in Massachusetts and graduated in 2020. During school, she pursued additional training in surgery and exotic animal medicine. After graduation, she returned home to Virginia and completed a small animal rotating internship at an emergency and specialty hospital. In 2021, she and her husband took a cross-country motorcycle trip to move to California, where she continued to care for dogs, cats, and exotic animals at an emergency hospital. She joined Groveway in July 2023.
