We are absolutely delighted to announce that Savanna Lagomarsino, Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) at Hill’s and Groveway Veterinary Hospitals, has won the coveted “Outstanding RVT of the Year” award for Alameda County. She was announced winner at the Alameda County Veterinary Medical Association’s Staff Night in Jack London Square, Oakland on July 26, 2017.
Savanna began her journey with our team as a Carrington College student at Groveway in 2012. She was promptly offered a permanent job following the successful completion of her course. She quickly climbed the ladder moving through Veterinary Assistant positions, to RVT once she gained her licence and was promoted to Lead RVT a number of years ago. She recently transferred to Hill’s Veterinary Hospital as Lead RVT to help rebuild and mentor the clinical team there.
In the last 5 yrs she has become one of our most reliable and competent members of staff. As a technician, she is an accomplished dentist, often supporting our vets with their most difficult cases. She has advanced exotics knowledge, leading our tech mentoring in this area. She is a patient teacher and enjoys sharing her knowledge and expertise with her colleagues and clients alike.
Dr. Andrew Moffatt said “Savanna commutes farther than anyone I know to be a part of our team. She spreads her strong work ethic and positive attitude around the hospital. Busy days and difficult cases always seem more manageable when she is around to lend support. She is an incredible multi-tasker, somehow getting radiographs and lab work done on end of the day appointments, while simultaneously closing up the hospital, and getting all the other employees out the door on time. Savanna constantly shares her knowledge and skill with those around her, supporting other team members while they learn and improve. She is an incredibly loyal person and I love working with her. She is like a diamond, hard to find, never to lose.“
Dr. Moffatt, Dr. Andre and all the team at Hill’s and Groveway Veterinary Hospitals could not be more proud of her! Congratulations Savanna!
