Meet the Team... Pinole Pet Hospital Clinical Director, Dr. Emily Lin!

March 13, 2015
hello world!

Do you have any nicknames you would like to share? Dr. Lin

Em, M, M&M

Where is your hometown?

San Francisco, CA

How long have you worked at Pinole Pet Hospital?

Since May 2013

What is your favorite animal?

Giraffes!  Those long legs, that elegant neck, those crazy spots, and those lashes that go on forever.  Plus, what can be cuter than a baby giraffe!

What pets do you have?

I have 2 cats: An indoor cat (Poppi) who won’t go out and an outdoor cat (Fonzie) who won’t come in.  Poppi is toilet trained.  It was easier to train him than it is currently training my son (who is almost 3 years old and still refuses to use the potty….*sigh*).  He thinks cats use toilets normally as there is no litter box in the house.

Describe yourself in 3 words:

Easy-going, open-minded, practical

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I love all things DIY. I’m not very good at executing, but I love the creative process. I enjoy making personalized gifts for people, though much of the time, this is what happens:

Me: Merry Christmas! (present gift)

Recipient: Oh, thank you so much for the ….um, oven mitts?

Me: No, they’re slippers.

Yes, I’ve officially become THAT person.

What is your favorite color?

Depends. I like green. Great on trees, grass, pickles, caterpillars, Kermit, not so much if I were to see it growing in the back of my refrigerator.

What is your favorite food?

Oh, I wish I knew how to quit you, Fosters Freeze! It’s so bad that it’s good and WAY too convenient as it is just down the street from the hospital. It’s not actually my favorite food (too many to choose from), but it’s definitely goes on the list of guilty pleasures.

What is your favorite Holiday and why?

Thanksgiving. The birthdays of three generations of women in my family (my mother’s birthday, my birthday, my daughter’s birthday) and Thanksgiving all land in the same week. What more can I be thankful for?

Do you have a favorite quote?

“Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend. Inside of a dog, it’s too dark to read.” Groucho Marx
