We believe that work experience is a very important part of a student’s learning. We also believe that working in summer can help reduce veterinary students mounting debt load! In providing students with real-life, in-hospital, hands-on experience they will gain invaluable skills and exposure to their chosen industry!
Meet our Student!
Name: Maggie Prittie
Age: 19
Hometown: Napa
College: Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
Why did you decide to join the veterinary industry?
As long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to become a veterinarian. My passion for animals and desire to make a difference in their lives has motivated me towards the veterinary career.
What are you looking forward to most about being a vet?
I’m looking forward to working with animals of all kind and forming human connections along the way.
What is the most interesting thing you have done/ learned at school?
This past spring quarter at Cal Poly, I was involved in a program called “Doggy Days”. The program is student-run and provides free health services to pets at the local San Luis Obispo homeless shelter.
Maggie has been working at California Pet Hospital for the Summer of 2018!
