Hello! My name is Kaylyn. Growing up I have always loved animals and brought home many strays. As I got older I realized I loved science as well and putting the two together was the perfect combination.
I am a Southern California native who grew up in Santa Clarita California. After graduating high school I moved to Hattiesburg Mississippi and completed my bachelor's degree at William Carey University. While an undergrad I worked as a veterinary technician for 7 years and an emergency technician for 2 years. After graduating undergrad I initially accepted a position for vet school at Ross University on the Island of St. Kitts. After completing almost a year there I transferred to Mississippi State University School of Veterinary Medicine where I received my degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2022.
Outside of work I love to be active and outdoors. As a retired high school athlete, it is important to me to try and stay consistently in the gym as well. In the winter I can be found snowboarding or relaxing by a warm fire with hot chocolate. During warmer months I can be found on a challenging hike, relaxing by the beach, floating down a river, or planning my next trip! I love to travel and living abroad in the Caribbean has fueled my passion even more. Experiencing and learning about new cultures in different countries have been such rewarding experiences. My favorite place so far that I have visited was Jamaica. I currently have one dog named Ceno who is an 11-year-old pitbull and has been with me his entire life. He is the best boy and best dog I could have ever asked for during every major step I’ve taken in life.
As a new grad fresh out of vet school I am excited to start my career here with the Hercules Pet Clinic team. I love the connections that are built between clients and patients in general practice and am grateful to be a part of this team to help mold my career. I look forward to meeting and helping all of your fur babies!
