Dr. James Holtschlag grew up in the area of Quincy, IL. He attended Western Illinois University where he started on the football team’s offensive line for four years and earned a degree in Agriculture Science.
He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. There he served as class representative and was selected to speak at his graduation. During his time training in veterinary medicine, he found his passion for working with both large and small animals.
Jimmy has special interests in surgery, theriogenology, herd health management, and alternative medicine.
He has an extra soft spot for hound dogs, and when he has free time, he enjoys watching football and being active outdoors with his dogs!
