COVID-19 UPDATE

March 17, 2020
hello world!
Updated: Tuesday, June 30th 2020.

To all our valued clients and friends,

We hope you and your family are doing well during this unprecedented time. Independent and together... has never meant more to us than it does right now.

Counties in California are moving towards reopening at different paces. The Bay Area is taking a more conservative approach to reopening its counties, as you will all be aware. We are continuing to follow the progress for each county and will be preparing for how we will be seeing patients and clients when the shelter in place is lifted. We remain focused on the health and safety of our staff and our communities, as well as our commitment to you, our clients and patients. This is our top priority.

You have a lot to think about at the moment,
let us help take care of your pets.

Veterinarians are still included in the essential business category during this time. Therefore, we will remain open, unless we hear otherwise.

Your Veterinarian - Same Face, Different Place

We are seeing all Pinole Pet Hospital pet parents and patients at
Hercules Pet Clinic
1511 Sycamore Ave, Suite B Hercules, CA 94547

We are seeing all Hill's Veterinary Hospital pet parents and patients at
Groveway Veterinary Hospital
2423 Grove Way, Castro Valley, CA 94546

If you are unsure about the location of your appointment or whether you should keep your appointment during this time, please reach out to us by phone or email and we will provide assistance to determine if an in-person meeting with our veterinarians is necessary or required.

We are following the California Department of Public Health and its guidance for veterinary hospitals. For some time now, we have had their recommendations in place with respect to social distancing, client-less exam rooms, sanitization/cleaning, and PPE, including wearing gloves and masks at all times. We are also continuing with our high standards of hospital and professional hygiene to minimize any infectious risks.

If you are visiting one of our locations, we kindly request that this visit be limited to one pet parent and you reference our “Social Distancing Safety Protocols” ahead of your visit. Please also plan to pay via credit or debit card. We kindly request you cancel your appointment should you or a member of your family be feeling unwell or showing any signs of COVID-19.

In light of recent updates by the CDC, effective immediately, and until the shelter-in-place order is lifted, we will no longer be performing nail trims.

We are working on a system for centralized mailing of prescriptions (with the exception of controlled substances, refrigerated, and emergency items) and are encouraging our hospitals to utilize contactless pickup options in the meantime.

On the guidance of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) other procedures/services performed will be at the discretion of our Veterinarians on a case-by-case, patient-specific, basis.

We are also working on a Telemedicine option we will be launching very soon!

We encourage you to utilize our digital tools and other resources during this time:

We encourage you to check this page and our social channels for the latest updates on our actions in compliance with local authorities. We will keep you updated if we reduce our open hours or close entirely. Please do not hesitate to call us if you have any questions or concerns about the health of your pet and/or your visit to our hospital.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation, stay focused on keeping our teams and communities healthy and provide you with the support you need. Please stay safe and healthy.
