What is Heartworm Disease?

Heartworm Disease is a very serious and potentially fatal condition your pet can contract through a bite from an infected mosquito. This infection causes foot-long worms to live in your pet’s heart, lungs, or associated blood vessels.

What are clinical signs of Heartworm Disease?

- Coughing
- Exercise intolerance
- Severe weight loss
- Fainting
- Coughing up blood
- Often there is no symptom at all…

Prevention is better than the cure

There are many different forms of prevention available to you and your pet to keep them free of Heartworm Disease. We recommend Proheart, heartworm protection that lasts 6 months. Yearly blood screen tests are recommended and can start at 7 months of age.
